Outer Banks Field Trip
March 9 - 10, 2020
This year 5th grade will be traveling to the Outer Banks in North Carolina again. This trip ties into our Social Studies and Science curriculum. Students will experience first hand what we are studying. The total cost of the trip will be around $225. It might be less depending on how much money 5th graders raise selling chocolate bars.

Itinerary:
- Visit to Jeannette’s Pier – hands-on science programs
- Visit Jockey’s Ridge State Park - climb the tallest sand dune on the East Coast
- Tour the Wright Brothers Memorial and Museum
- Visit the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island
- Visit Roanoke Island Festival Park with: Elizabeth II Ship, American Indian Town, Settlement Site, Adventure Museum, and Fossil Pit (time permitting)
Required Fundraising:
- Students wanting to go to OBX are REQUIRED to sell at least ONE box of World Finest Chocolate
- One box of chocolate has 60 bars (milk chocolate, almond, caramel, dark chocolate, and crisp)
- Sales will take place in early Jan. and last for 2 weeks

- Students MUST follow the CMS code of conduct the entire year! Students who are in violation of this Code of Conduct may not attend and their $50 will not be refunded.
- If you would like to chaperone, you will need to pay $225 as well.

- $75 by Jan. 10
- $75 by Jan. 24
- $25 by Feb. 7 (this might less depending on fundraising)
